Istanbul Basakşehir Football Club (Turkish: İstanbul Başakşehir Futbol Kulübü) is a Turkish football club located in Basaksehir, a district of Istanbul. The club was founded in 1990 (Turkish: İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor) and they first reached the Turkish Super League in the 2007–08 season. The team plays its official matches at the Basaksehir Fatih Tarim Stadium in Istanbul, which can accommodate approximately 17,000 spectators, and is owned by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Istanbul Basaksehir is one of the five teams playing in the Turkish Super League and is based in Istanbul, along with Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Kasimpasa Club. In the 2016-2017 season, the team participated in the Super League, the Turkish Cup and the European League competitions. In the 2017–18 season, they reached the playoffs in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round. They managed to win the league title for the first time in their history in the 2019-20 season.
