were a party to two disasters, the first was the Heysel stadium disaster in
1985, when a wall collapsed under pressure from the fleeing fans at Heysel
Stadium, as a result of riots before the start of the 1985 European Cup Final
between Liverpool and Juventus. As a result, 39 people died and 600 were
injured. The second was the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 at Hillsborough, the
home of Sheffield Wednesday, during a football match between Nottingham Forest
and Liverpool in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. As a result, 96 people died and
many more were injured.

Group, after it purchased the ownership of the club for £300 million. On the

Association.
Date
Liverpool Football Club was established after a dispute
between the management of Everton FC, club president and Anfield owner John
Holding. After eight years on the field, Everton moved to Goodison Park in 1892
and John Holding founded Liverpool FC to play at Anfield. The club was
initially called Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd, or Everton Athletic for
short. The club's name was changed to Liverpool F.C. after the Football
Association refused to recognize the name Everton. The team won the Lancashire
League in its first season, and joined the Football League Second Division in
the 1893–94 season. After finishing the season in first place, the club moved
to the First Division, which it won in 1901 and again in 1906.
Liverpool reached the FA Cup Final for the first time in
1914, losing 1-0 to Burnley FC. Liverpool won the League Championship consecutively
in 1922 and 1923, but did not win any more until the 1946-47 season, when the
club won the First Division Championship for the fifth time under former West
Ham United player George Kay. Liverpool suffered a second loss in the FA Cup
Final in 1950 from Arsenal. The club was relegated to the second division in
the 1953-54 season. Shortly after Liverpool lost to non-league club Worcester
City in the FA Cup, Bill Shankly was appointed as coach. Upon his arrival, he
released 24 players and transformed a boot storage room at Anfield into a room
where coaches would gather and discuss strategy. Here Shankly began meeting
with other "Bootroom" members Joe Fagan, Robin Bennett and Bob
Paisley to form the squad.
The club was promoted to the first division again in 1962
and won it in 1964, for the first time in 17 years. In 1965, the club won the
FA Cup for the first time. In 1966, the club won the First Division but lost to
Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final. Liverpool won the League
and UEFA Cup in the 1972–73 season, and the FA Cup the following season. After
that, Shankly retired and was replaced by his assistant Bob Paisley. In 1976,
Benzi's second season as coach, Liverpool won the League and European Cup
double again. In the following season, the club maintained the League and won
the European Cup for the first time, but lost in the 1977 FA Cup Final.
Liverpool retained the European Cup in 1978 and the First Division in 1979.
During Paisley's ninth season as coach, Liverpool won 21 trophies, including 3
cups Europe, the UEFA Cup, six league titles, and three consecutive League
Cups. The only domestic tournament he hasn't won is the FA Cup.
Paisley retired in 1983 and was replaced by his assistant,
Joe Fagan. Liverpool won the League, League Cup and European Cup in Fagan's
first season, becoming the first English club to win three trophies in one
season. Liverpool reached the European Cup final again in 1985, against
Juventus at Heysel Stadium. Before the start of the match, Liverpool fans broke
the fence separating the fans of the two clubs, and accused the Juventus fans.
The weight of the people caused the wall to collapse, killing 39 of the crowd,
mostly Italians. The incident became known as the Heysel Stadium disaster. The
match was played despite the protests of both coaches, Liverpool losing 1-0. As
a result of the incident, English clubs were denied European participation for
five years, Liverpool received a ten-year ban, but it was later reduced to six
years. Fourteen Liverpool fans have been convicted of manslaughter.
Fagan announced his retirement shortly before the disaster
and appointed Kenny Dalglish as player and coach. During this period, the team
won three league titles and two FA Cups, including the FA Cup and League Cup double
in the 1985–86 season. The Hillsborough disaster overshadowed Liverpool's
success, in the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989,
hundreds of Liverpool fans were crushed on the fence surrounding the stadium.
Ninety-four people died that day, the ninety-fifth victim died in hospital of
his injuries after four days, and the ninety-sixth victim died nearly four
years later, without regaining consciousness. After the Hillsborough disaster
there was a government review of stadium safety. Taylor's report resulting from
the review paved the way for legislation requiring all first-division teams to
have one seat in their stadiums. The report indicated that the main cause of
the disaster was overcrowding resulting from the failure of police control.
Liverpool were at the end of the tightest league season in
the league, the 1988–89 season. Liverpool finished the season equal with
Arsenal on points and goal difference, but lost the title with total goals
scored when Arsenal scored the last goal in the last minute of the season.
Dalglish indicated that the Hillsborough disaster and its
repercussions were the reason for his resignation in 1991, and he was replaced
by former player Graeme Souness. Under his leadership, Liverpool won the 1992 FA
Cup Final, but the team's performance in the league declined, as it finished
sixth twice in a row, which caused him to be sacked in 1994. Roy Evans replaced
Souness, and Liverpool won the League Cup final in 1995. While they competed
for The league title under Evans, third place is the team's best in 1996 and
1998, and Gerard Houllier was appointed as assistant coach, and became coach in
November 1998 after Evans resigned. In 2001, Houllier's second full season,
Liverpool won the treble: the FA Cup, the League Cup and the FA Cup. Houllier
underwent heart surgery during the 2001–02 season and Liverpool finished second
in the league behind Arsenal. The team won the League Cup in 2003, but failed
to contend for the title in the following two seasons.
At the end of the 2003–04 season, Rafael Benitez was
appointed to replace Houllier, despite finishing the season in fifth place in
Benitez's first season, Liverpool won the 2004–05 Champions League after
defeating Milan 3–2 in the penalty shootout after the match ended 3–3. The
following season, Liverpool finished third in the league and won the FA Cup,
defeating West Ham United on penalties after the match 3–3. American
businessmen George Gillette and Tom Hicks became owners of the club in the
2006–07 season, in a deal that valued the club and its unpaid debts at £218.9
million. The club reached the 2007 Champions League final against Milan, as it
had in 2005, but this time Liverpool lost 2-1. In the 2008–09 season, Liverpool
scored 86 points, the club's highest number of points in the Premier League,
and finished runner-up to Manchester United.
In the 2009–10 season, Liverpool finished seventh and failed
to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Consequently, Benitez left the club
by mutual consent and was replaced by Fulham manager Roy Hodgson. At the start
of the 2010–11 season Liverpool was on the verge of bankruptcy and the club's
creditors asked the Supreme Court to allow the sale of the club, contrary to
the wishes of Hicks and Gillette. John W. Henry, owner of the Boston Red Sox
and Fenway Sports Group, accepted an offer and took ownership of the club in
October 2010. Poor results at the start of the season led Hodgson to leave the
club by mutual consent, to be replaced by former coach Kenny Dalglish. After
the team finished eighth in the 2011–12 season, the team's worst finish in 18
years, Dalglish was fired. In his place was Brendan Rodgers. In Rodgers' first
season, Liverpool finished seventh in the league and reached the round of 32 in
the Europa League. In the 2013-14 season, Liverpool was a party to a
competition for the league title despite not being nominated and finished the
season second behind champion Manchester City, scoring 101 goals.

the beginning
The first photo of a team in 1905
In 1904, Gus Mears acquired Stamford Bridge Sports Ground
and resolved to convert it into a soccer field. He offered to rent him to Fulham,
but his offer was rejected, so he chose to establish his own team to use the
stadium. Since the region contained a club named Fulham, it was decided to name
the new team after Chelsea after other names were suggested such as Stamford
Bridge, London Club and Kensington Club. Chelsea was founded on the 10th of
March 1905 at The Racing Sun Pub (now The Butcher Hook) across from the main
entrance to present-day Fulham Road. Immediately after that, he was selected to
participate in the Football League.
The team ascended to the First Division in its second
season, and swung between the first and second divisions during its first
years. He reached the FA Cup Final in 1915, losing to Sheffield United at Old
Trafford, and finished the 1920 season in third place in the First Division,
which was the team's best season until that time. Chelsea drew crowds and
gained a reputation for buying top players, but success eluded them in the
interwar period.
Achievements start
Former Arsenal and England striker Ted Drake was appointed
manager of Chelsea in 1952 and has continued to modernize the team. He removed
the club's previous crest, developed a youth training and preparation system,
rebuilt the team by making smart deals from the lower tiers and amateur
leagues, and led Chelsea to its first success at the tournament level, the
League Championship in the 1954-55 season. The following season, UEFA
established the Champions League but Chelsea were persuaded to withdraw from the
competition before it began after objections from the Football League and the
FA. Chelsea failed to maintain this success and spent the rest of the 1950s
mid-ranking. Drake left the team in 1961 and was replaced by former coach and
player Tommy Docherty.
Docherty built a new team of talented players emerging from
the youth team, and Chelsea competed for several championships during the
1960s. The team was on its way to achieving a triple: the League, the League
Cup, and the FA Cup by reaching the final stages in the 1964-1965 season,
winning the League Cup, but it failed to achieve the other two championship
titles. Chelsea have been defeated in three seasons in the semi-finals of three
major tournaments, as well as the runner-up title in the FA Cup. He also won
the FA Cup in 1970 under the leadership of Dave Sexton, Docherty's successor,
after defeating Leeds United 2-1 in the final. In the following season, the
team achieved its first European success by winning the European Cup Winners'
Cup after defeating Real Madrid in the second leg of the final in Athens.
landing period
The end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties
were a difficult period for Chelsea FC. The eagerness to develop Stamford
Bridge threatened the team's financial stability, and the club sold its star
players and was relegated to the Second Division. The club suffered even more
problems caused by a fanatical element known as sports fanaticism that troubled
the team during this decade. In 1981 Chelsea hit rock bottom and businessman
Ken Bates bought him for £1 even though the team had lost ownership of Stamford
Bridge to the developers and thus land. On the field, the team came close to
relegation to the third division for the first time in its history, but John
Neal, club manager at the time, formed a new team with minimal expenses,
achieving the second division championship and ascending to the first division
in the 1983-1984 season before relegating again in 1988, but quickly rose to
win the second division title in the same season.
Roberto Di Matteo, winner of the Champions League.
Bates managed to return ownership of Stamford Bridge to the
club in 1992 after protracted legal struggles, striking a deal with developer
banks that went bankrupt after the market crash. But Chelsea's performance in
the Premier League was not convincing, despite reaching the FA Cup Final in
1994 under the leadership of Glenn Hoddle. Chelsea's luck did not change until
1996, when Ruud Gullit was appointed technical director of the club, and he
joined several international players, winning the FA Cup in 1997 and returning
to one of the biggest English clubs again. Gullit was then replaced by Gianluca
Vialli, who led the team to winning the Football League, the European Cup
Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup in 1998; He also won the FA Cup in 2000
in addition to the team's first appearance in the European Champions League.
Subsequently, Vialli was sacked in order to appoint Claudio Ranieri, who led
the team to the 2002 FA Cup Final and qualifying for the Champions League in
the 2002-03 season.
new era
In 2003, Bates sold Chelsea FC to Russian billionaire Roman
Abramovich for £140 million. He spent more than £100m on new players but
Ranieri was unable to win any titles and was replaced by Jose Mourinho. Under
Mourinho's leadership, Chelsea became the fifth team to win the league title
twice in a row since World War II, in the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons, in
addition to achieving the FA Cup in 2007 and the Football League in 2005 and
2007. Mourinho was then replaced by Avram Grant, who led the team to the
Champions League final for the first time, losing to Manchester United on
penalties.
In 2009, Guus Hiddink led Chelsea to another success in the
FA Cup, succeeded by Carlo Ancelotti, and he was able to achieve the team’s
first double by winning the Premier League and FA Cup in the 2009-2010 season,
becoming the first English senior team to score 100 goals in one season since
1963 In 2012 Roberto Di Matteo was appointed as interim coach; He led Chelsea
to achieve the FA Cup for the seventh time, and also achieved the Champions
League for the first time, becoming the first London team to win the tournament
after beating Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties. A year later, Chelsea won the
European League, becoming the first team to win two major European championships
together, becoming one of four teams and the only British team to win the three
major European championships.

Stamford Bridge is a football stadium located on the border
of Fulham and Chelsea, and is the home of Chelsea Football Club. Nicknamed
"The Bridge", it has a capacity of 41,789 spectators. It is the
eighth largest stadium for the English Premier League teams.
Chelsea FC has had no other stadium than Stamford Bridge
throughout its history, where it has played since its inception until now. The
stadium opened on 28 April 1877 and was used by the London Athletics Club for
twenty-eight years for sporting meetings. It was not intended for football. In
1904, businessman Gus Myers and his brother Joseph acquired the ownership of
the stadium and bought a nearby plot of land that was previously cultivated and
the fruits of which were sold with the aim of holding football matches on the
new 51,000 square meter plot. Designed for the Mers family, Stamford Bridge was
designed by the famous architect Archibald Leach, who was known for his designs
for the football facilities and designed the stadiums Ibrox, Celtic Park and
Hampden Park. Although the majority of football clubs were founded first and
then sought to create the ground on which they would play, Chelsea was founded
specifically for Stamford Bridge.
The stadium has undergone many major changes over the years,
most recently in
Logo and colors
Logo
Chelsea has distinguished itself by four basic logos since
its founding, however, all of them have undergone minor modifications.
Subsequently, Ted Drake decided to remove the Benchner's image and change the
club's crest starting in 1905 in line with his policy of modernizing the team.
To fill the gap, a new temporary logo was designed bearing the letters C.F.C,
the initials of the team name 'Chelsea Football Club' and ran for one year. In
1953 the emblem changed to bear the image of a standing lion looking behind it
and holding a sceptre. This emblem lasted for three decades and was designed
according to the elements of the coat of arms of the Chelsea region. The emblem
also contained three red roses to represent England, as well as two footballs.
This logo was the first logo to be placed on the team's shirts, as the policy
of putting logos on the shirts began in the early sixties.
The team's logo changed again in 1986 after it was owned by
Ken Bates in another attempt to modernize and market the team. The new logo
contained a lion that looks more natural and is not symbolic, and appears in
white instead of blue standing above the letters C.F.C. This logo lasted for 19
years, despite the introduction of some modifications, such as the use of the
red color from 1987 until 1995, the yellow color from 1995 until 1999, and then
the return of the white color again. When Roman Abramovich owned the team and
with his centenary date approaching and as a result of the team's supporters'
demands to restore the famous 1950 logo, it was decided to change the logo
again in 2005, so the new logo officially appeared at the beginning of the
2005-2006 season and represented the return of the old design that was used
from 1953 until 1986.
