Italy national football team


The Italian national football team (Italian: La Nazionale di calcio dell'Italia) or the Azzurri (Italian: azzurro) is the official representative of Italy in the sport of football, supervised by the Italian Football Federation. He joined FIFA in 1905, and was among the European federations founding UEFA in 1954. He made his first official match on May 15, 1910 in Milan, when he defeated his French counterpart 6-2. Since then, the Italian team has achieved global and continental successes, and has become one of the traditional football powers in the world alongside Brazil and Germany. He has won the World Cup four times, the European Nations Cup twice, and the Olympic gold once. He oversaw his technical deck and played with him dozens of legends throughout his history.
