First, who are Alaa and Gamal Mubarak?

Alaa El-Din Mohamed Hosni El-Sayed Mubarak (November 26, 1960-) is the eldest son of Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, the former president of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Alaa Mubarak is a businessman, but no details are available about his business identity or business. He is married to Heidi Magdy Rasekh, and they have a son, Omar. His eldest son "Mohammed" died on May 18, 2009 at the age of 13, following a health crisis

Alaa is considered one of the "shadow figures", as he does not seek to enter politics and is very less visible in the media, unlike his younger brother Gamal Mubarak, who participated significantly in political life. The Egyptian Public Prosecutor issued a decision to imprison him for 15 days pending investigations in which he and his brother Gamal are accused on 4-12-2011 AD, after investigations with them in cases related to corruption and abuse of influence.

He was brought to trial on charges of corruption, abuse of influence, and the presentation of his father Hosni Mubarak, his brother Gamal Mubarak, the former Minister of Interior Habib al-Adly and six security chiefs and directors on charges of participating in planning to kill peaceful demonstrators in the January 25, 2011 revolution, and he appeared for the first time in the dock on August 3, 2011. On June 2, 2012, he was acquitted of the charges of murder against the people, but he remained in prison to consider his and his brother's verdict on charges of negatively affecting the Egyptian Stock Exchange.


Gamal Mubarak or Gamal Mohamed Hosni Sayed Mubarak (born December 27, 1963, Cairo) is an Egyptian politician who served as the Assistant Secretary-General and former Secretary of Policies of the National Democratic Party, and is the youngest son of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Suzanne Mubarak.


Gamal Mubarak joined the National Democratic Party in 2000. The year 2002 witnessed his strong rise in the party ladder, taking advantage of his father’s influence in a move that indicates a plan to inherit power by assuming the position of Secretary of the Policies Committee, which took over “politics setting” for the government, and “reviewing draft laws” that it “proposed.” party government before being referred to Parliament. In November 2007, the date of the ninth congress of the party, he held the position of Assistant General Secretary and Policy Secretary.


With his rapid rise and strong presence on the political scene, his name became popular as a possible successor to his father at the head of the party and its candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. Several personalities and political forces saw his rise as a step towards what they called "bequeathing", but the January 25, 2011 revolution ended this scheme. On April 13, 2011, a decision was issued to imprison him, his brother and his father for 15 days pending investigation.

As for President Hosni Mubarak, his former interior minister, Habib al-Adly, and six security chiefs and directors, they were brought on charges of planning and instigating the killing of protesters on January 25, 2011, and he appeared for the first time in the dock on August 3 2011 .


On Monday, January 26, 2015, the two sons of the former president, Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, were released, in implementation of the Cairo Criminal Court’s decision to release them by guaranteeing their place of residence in the case of the presidential palaces.



The pioneers of social networking sites circulated news about the intention of Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, sons of the late President Hosni Mubarak, to buy the English club Liverpool through the Financial Group Hermes Holding Company, which is listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

And the company that owns Liverpool club announced, yesterday, Monday, according to press reports, that it is open to selling stakes in the Premier League club, amid news of receiving offers from potential buyers.

Earlier, EFG Hermes Holding denied any relationship between Gamal and Alaa Mubarak with the company, and the company is listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange and owned by a number of major investors whose names were disclosed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, as well as shareholders through the stock exchange because the company is listed in the Egyptian stock market.

An informed source denied that EFG Hermes has any endeavors to invest in football in England and acquire Liverpool FC, as the company works in financial activities in Egypt and a number of countries in the world and a number of development sectors related to financial activity.
